Did you know that we have been AAHA Accredited since 2011?
What is AAHA?
AAHA stands for the American Animal Hospital Association. AAHA was founded in 1933 and their mission is to:
• Enhance the abilities of veterinarians to provide quality medical care to companion animals
• Enable veterinarians to successfully conduct their practices and maintain their facilities with high standards of excellence
• Meet the public’s needs as they relate to the delivery of small animal veterinary medicine
What does it mean to have AAHA Accreditation?
AAHA is the only organization that accredits animal hospitals. To gain our AAHA accreditation, we had to comply with about 900 standards that they have set for the veterinary industry. These standards range broadly and cover everything from facility cleanliness, medical record documentation, training and continuing education, safety standards and much, much more. We are routinely evaluated which helps us keep up with changes in the veterinary industry.
Hospitals who gain their AAHA Accreditation are raising the bar for the veterinary industry. It is an honor to be part of such an elite group.
What does it mean for our clients?
Clients who choose a practice who are accredited can be more secure in the knowledge that we are providing the very best care possible to our patients through an industry recognized standard. This is an elite designation as only about 12-15% of veterinary clinics in the United States are accredited. We consider it a welcome challenge to hold ourselves to such a high standard each and every day.
