Stephen Levert, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Levert's passion for exotic animals began with receiving his pet red-eared slider turtle Squirt when he was 5 years old. That love of all animal species transitioned to an interest in veterinary medicine during his undergraduate years at Texas A&M as a Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences major, class of 2019. He then graduated from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in 2023, and was awarded the Kaytee Avian and Special Species Excellence Award. Dr. Levert is excited to be serving the community in his hometown of Sugar Land, Texas. His favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is working as a collaborative team with the client to provide the best possible care for their pets. In addition, he loves when medical principles from domesticated and exotic pets can be applied to rare species from around the world. He has a special interest in nutrition, internal medicine, and behavior, especially in exotic species.
Dr. Levert’s animal family at homes includes two spoiled cats (Melody and Agatha), two red-eared sliders (Squirt and Cleo), one Russian tortoise (Franklin), and a leopard gecko (Rattle). Outside of helping his patients, he enjoys birding, hiking, aquarium keeping, horticulture and playing piano.
