Dr. Kimberly Roset
Dr. Kimberly Roset, a 2001 graduate of Texas A&M, grew up in the Austin area and attended Texas A&M University, where she obtained two bachelor degrees and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. While attending Texas A&M, she was involved in numerous organizations which furthered her knowledge of avian and exotic medicine and spent her summers in avian research. After graduation in 2001, she joined ABC Animal & Bird Clinic and has enjoyed seeing many different species of companion small animals. Dr. Roset also enjoys the challenge of feline medicine, dentistry, surgery, and ultrasonic imaging.
Dr. Roset’s experience goes beyond animal medicine, from her attention to detail and her broad education, she is quite proficient in the medical specialties of surgical procedures and digital imaging diagnostics. She is able to evaluate and serve her patients better and is a proud member of ABC Animal and Bird Clinic. Her favorite part of her job is that every day presents a different challenge.
In addition to a busy professional life, Dr. Roset shares her home with her two young boys (Aidan and Ian). She has 3 cats (Sampson, Apollo, and Calix) who tolerate the humans in their house, 2 Australian Shepherds (Cub and Comet), and a ball python named Snape. She volunteers regularly with the Boy Scouts of American and supports her sons’ goals of becoming Eagle Scouts. Furthermore, she enjoys traveling and activities such as triathlons, scuba diving, camping, and sketching.
Dr. Jessica Michalec
Dr. Michalec started her veterinary medicine career with us in 2005. She loves veterinary medicine because she gets to fill so many different roles – general practitioner, surgeon, dentist, radiologist, behaviorist, etc. She also loves getting to solve medical mysteries – it’s kind of like being a detective!
Dr. Michalec has a 17-year-old black kitty named Jazz. He is the most patient cat she has ever met. He tolerates her kids, James and Erin, carrying him around and even putting clothes on him, and he purrs the whole time. She also has two silly Maltese boys. Sprocket and Newton are 12 and 10 years old, respectively. She likes to say that Sprocket is a typical Maltese (bouncy and happy) and that Newton is a Muppet-version of a Maltese with the way he looks and acts. Thor is her 6-year-old Bearded Dragon. He is huge, handsome and very patient. She takes him with her to career days. There has been a recent addition to the family, Flower the Guinea pig! She also has a tank full of fishies.
Outside of work, Dr. Michalec loves to do crafty stuff, especially sewing, scrapbooking, painting, and writing poetry. She also enjoys thrift-shopping and reading!
